Anyway, please don't try pinning this 100% on the 360, I've seen my fair share of PS3 fanboys. Each system has their own pros and cons. When it comes to games, it's basically Halo and Gears compared to God of War and MGS. Anyone that says Halo is "a great game" instantly gets his opinion ignored by me, because it is NOT a great game (this coming from someone who actually OWNS Halo 3).

On the flip side, PS3 fanboys tick me off also. I saw a comic on Penny Arcade that I actually laughed at (yeah, strange, I know, here's the link: http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2008/5/23/). Mostly, I think it's funny because of how true it is. Bioshock being, arguably, the best FPS of the last couple years, the PS3 finally getting it, and really nothing from the PS3 fanboy's side.

You just describe how people identify themselves. Really, people only identify with what they BUY or like. Since, we live in a extremely materialistic society, we can only identify with other people in what they like or buy. ie Person X talks to person Y because they both have a wii. Its just a common interest, but our common interests reflect on consumerism at the moment.

Fanboys are indeed lame, and sadly can be found on every level of life, whether it be brand of car, or video game, they are there... Waiting... Waiting for you to say something that doesn't exactly fit with what's in their own mind so that they can rant and whine about how WRONG you are, and how RIGHT they are.

Personally I prefer Wii over anything else because it has the Nintendo classics, and spiffy motion sensor controllers. But that doesn't mean it's superior, it's all a matter of opinion, and fanboy opinions don't really matter.

The problem is superiority syndrome all humans have, it is a very normal competition between humans, it's needed to survive and instinctive, the problem is only present in people with a small capacity to self control, normally very young people, and also present in a small amount of adults ignoring it's not needed to force people to think like you.

Taking the example of the above post, this syndrome could end in a chain of, for example, buying only Sony products for demonstrate you are right in your arguments and thinking.

With time, people just understand that things doesn't matter at all, just live your life, and let others live their lives.

Being a "Windows fanboy" is kind of stupid, because being a fanboy of something 90% of computer users use is just stupid. That's like being a "turkey sandwich fanboy" or a "paved sidewalks fanboy" or an "Oxygen fanboy" (so much better than your crappy Nitrogen, suckers).

But yeah, I can tolerate Linux fanboys, because what they back is actually superior, and that is undeniable fact.

A guy i know was a PS3 fanboy, he went on and on about how the PS3 was so much better than the 360 it started to get annoying, anyway last week his PS3 broke... he bought a 360 instead of it.
